This altimeter leverages both GPS and the integrated barometer, a feature available since the iPhone 6, to accurately ascertain your current elevation. While GPS can provide absolute altitude when unobstructed by overhead structures, its accuracy may be limited. In contrast, the barometric method offers enhanced precision for both indoor and outdoor altitude measurements, although it necessitates a reference altitude for optimal calibration. It is important to note that this calibration may deteriorate over time due to fluctuations in atmospheric pressure stemming from weather changes.

- Option to set a base altitude as a reference point, facilitating altitude difference calculations (ideal for hiking or biking)
- Ability to calibrate the barometric altitude by linking current air pressure to actual elevation
